With the lyrics “What a Loooooong Strange Trip it’s Been…” looping in the recesses of my mind, I welcome you wholeheartedly to this wedding website!  Kira and I have been anticipating this moment for over three years when I first forged a note in the sands of a Big Island Beach: “Marry me one day with a pre-nup, Okay?” When she texted me a picture of “Hell Yes!” in a similar sandy scribble, the wheels were set in motion.

We couldn’t be more excited to be at this point in the journey… a small signpost along the way to be sure, but one wrapped in rowdy rainbows gilded in joy. Most of you receiving this invitation have known one of us for a long while and have likely helped us through some turbulent times.  We are humbled to have such beloved friends and family who have shown up for us.  We hope this wedding will feel as much a celebration of You our community, as it does Us as a couple.  We are grateful to have you in our tribe. 

 

Of the many things that mark this event as non-traditional, (and yes there are many) we are most excited that we get to share this moment with our 5 teenage children. They are the centrifugal force of our world.  This union feels as much about the commitment we are making to them as to each other—  and what a beautiful privilege that is!
